We've decided to stay in for New Years eve, with all the crazies out there, but if I were to be going out, this is exactly what I would wear. I'm in love with the purse, and in fact the moment I found it, I new I was going with a glitz theme. Have a save New Years Eve!
Yes, it is true, this is pure AWESOME! I cannot wait to go shopping because I want all of this! Lucky for me I already I have the clutch, cardigan, dress, belt, earrings and necklace. Still need fancy shoes, glitz polish, and something for my fingers and wrist, oh and some blue shadow and pale pink lip gloss.
Eric and I went to a wedding, and after final preparations, I had a complete outfit. In the vehicle it came to a unanimous vote that I looked like a green olive. I'm ok with this, I looked cute, and even cuter with Eric by my side.
My color pallet for the holidays is: Teal, white, silver, black, and beige.
Elements for the holidays: Stars, glitter, trees, snow, snowflakes, snow globes, ice, ice skates.
Who is ready for the holidays? Pardon the rush in Christmas decor, but we had thanksgiving early this month while my husbands brother and wife and children were in town, my clock is all messed up.
I had this grand idea of styling some outfits based off of flowers. I'm really impressed with how this came out. I love the gray pearls, lace stockings and black flats. I thought the flats complimented the basic black belt. When I think of lilacs, I always think of my Grandma Norma, who passed away when I was a sophomore in high school. I guess that is why I tied in the knitted purple sweater.
So I know all of your are wondering, what is this outfit this time? No? Well I was indecisive on what to wear for our 5 year anniversary that it took me right till the very morning to pick out my outfit to a T. I knew I'd be wearing jeans, my wedding band, earrings Eric got me, smokey eyes and simple black shoes. It was the top I couldn't decided on the day before. Finally I settled for a very simple black WARM sweater. We were in New Bern NC for the photos, IN THE AM, and it was a little chilly from what I am used to (but I was loving it). Since it was uber cold, I decided to get rid of the pearl idea, and wear a scarf. I'm glad to it was rather toasty. Here is the run down of the total cost-ish.
1. Sweater: $25 from Old Navy (new)
2. Jeans: $30 Old Navy (already owned)
3. Scarf: under $10 I think? from Target (already owned for years)
4. Shoes: $30 from Target (already owned- work shoes)
5. Earrings: Gift from my man
6. Ring: Gift from my man
7. Purse: From Belles $10 (already owned). It is simple and black, and not near as awesome as the one on the fashion mood board above. Confession, I didn't actually carry the purse in the photos.
8. Socks, yes they had a tint of pink, on clearance for $2 from target (already owned)
9. Smokey eye: Priceless.
Ladies, when in doubt, a simple smokey eye is the way to go. Now, don't go all to the shore on me, just enough for a wow factor, but not HOLY WOW! Got it?
I don't have the pictures yet, but our awesome photography Pat has them posted to his blog, so please go check them out @ catherinealexanderphotography
ps. We were on vacation from Saturday night till yesterday morning? Could you tell?
Again, another fun mood board I created. I created this awhile back, before we decided to leave the 2/2 apartment. My favorite part about the design is the adorable owl umbrella stand! The stool is pretty interesting too. I'm pretty confident that the cats may enjoy it more then us. The longer I look at it, to more I see a scratching post. The wicker bins are for easy access too shoes, without the clutter. The blue bins would fit perfectly in the book case to old keys, books, maps, flashlights... essentials. Adding a few hooks to either side of the case my be a good option for a light jacket. Polyvore, you have out did yourself with the awesomeness of your site! Thoughts?
I can't imagine many of my readers are too interested in how my man will be dressed, so I'll save that for when you see a sneak peak of the actually shoot. How DAMN CUTE is that Kate Spade clutch? And it's NO LONGER AVAILABLE! Can you believe the heart break? I don't think I could even sport a look-a-like if I wanted too. To walk around in these exact threads you shall spend $1,104.77. While creating this look, I didn't realize how pricey it was. Now IF the newspaper clutch was still available this look may be a bit more expensive for me to pull, but in the name of Kate Spade, I'd do it. Can't wait to show you all how I made this outfit happen, with my happening budget.
Here is some inspiration for an outfit I plan on rocking later in the month for a fun little photo shoot with my <3. What are your thoughts? I've only played around with polyvore briefly to create a couple things. I walked around Target taking photos of some fashion! According to my polyvore board, it would cost $4,755 to sport this outfit (yeah, over my current budget my friends!). You will be pretty surprised to see how much I actually spend on the look a like outfit (and Eric will be thrilled!). Here's a small tip, my lace tote was only $15!
