Panel Wall: Stencil Embellishment

In the dining room, we have a some fun colored vertical panels. I taped up a Martha Stewart stencil set from Michaels. Using a cheap-o sponge brush I applied the paint, immediately removed the stencil, and went to the next panel.

Kate Spade Inspired Art Work

I used a tutorial found here, inspired by Kate Spade, and pinned over here. I have the teal canvas hung horizontally in the hall way, and the silver one is hung vertically next to my desk. More importantly, I tagged Kate Spades twitter account while posting it to my instagram feed, and they replied back. I'm star struck don't you know?

I used 3 types of card stock, matte, shiny, and glitter, all in the same color family. I used a cheap canvas ($9.99 for 2 via Michaels), and then hot glue. I bought a 2inch hole punch with a 40% off coupon. I'm loving this little project, and considering making a few for gifts.

Plans for 2012

I know all of us are sitting around our homes, thinking about the year that has best, and then what is to come in 2012. The new year always gives us a chance to start over, move forward, look to the future. 2011 was a great year for us here on the avenue. We bought a car, seen family, visited more of florida then ever, sat comfortably finically and celebrated our 5 year anniversary. Early in the year, we did not expect any of those things, but we are forever celebrating our blessing. With that said, having such an awesome year, 2012 can only continue to be awesome. I've jotted down a things I'd like to accomplish, some of them I want every year, and a few new.

Mossy Project

I made this a really long time ago, and possible posted it on an old blog, but since I love it so much, figured it was time to grace its presence here, at the avenue. I made balls using an old magazine and masking tape. I picked up a bag of moss from Michaels, and then hot glued pieces of it around the newspaper ball. After I was done I put it in a goodwill glass vase, and target clearance decor balls. Nothing special, but its still a decor piece in the house.
